Rise Against es una banda estadounidense  de hardcore punk  proveniente de Chigado, lllinois  y formada en 1999. Actualmente los miembros son Tim Mcllrath(voz principal, guitarra rítmica),Zach Blair (guitarra líder, coros),Joe Principe (bajo, coros) y Brandon Barnes( batería y percusión). Rise Against pasó los primeros cinco años de actividad con un contrato con el  selli discográfico independiente Fat Wreck Chords, con quienes editaron dos álbumes, The Unraveling (2001) y  Revolutions per minute (2003). Ambos discos recibieron bastante éxito en la escena underground, que les llevó a firmar por una multinacional, Geffen, en 2003.
